Driver Mentors

We are currently seeking Driver Mentors based in Wodonga, Victoria, to support female learner drivers from diverse backgrounds to learn how to drive.

All Driver Mentors will be offered a thorough Driver Mentor Induction. This includes attendance of our in-house Driver Mentor Training to ensure you feel confident on the road whenever you meet with your Learner Participant.

Learn to drive

To be considered as a volunteer Driver Mentor you need to meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be aged 25 years and over and hold a current full Victorian licence (probationary licence not eligible)
  • Live in the Mildura, Bendigo, Maribyrnong or Dandenong regions
  • Provide a minimum of 1 hour driving session per week to the program
  • Have good communication skills including a willingness to listen and learn
  • Have ability to motivate and inspire women from diverse backgrounds
  • Have self-awareness, compassion, empathy and reliability
  • Be willing to obtain a National Police Check and Driver History Report

Early Years Training Program has launched in Shepparton

Women from diverse communities can now benefit from WomenCAN Australia’s proven peer-led support program and be paid to train on-the-job in childcare or kindergarten.
