WomenCAN Australia backs a constitutionally enshrined First Nations Voice to the Australian Parliament.

At the heart of The Voice are principles we support and share.

They include fairness and equality of opportunity.

This is a monumental moment in our history.

We salute the Uluru Statement from the Heart as a beautiful invocation of unity and a beneficent invitation to a properly shared future that includes truth-telling, treaty-making and constitutional reform.

We recognise our responsibility to listen to and learn from indigenous Australians and to embrace their just and fair aspirations.

The Voice is an opportunity for First Nations peoples to have a better say in decisions that affect their children, families, and communities.

It is an unavoidable milestone on the road to reconciliation.

It is a crucial element of the effort our nation must make if we are to be a place where equality of opportunity is our guide, if we really are to be a fair land.

WomenCAN Australia urges Australians to seize this moment for healing, unity and justice by voting in the upcoming referendum to establish a First Nations Voice.

This is necessary for reconciliation, justice, and healing.
