We're looking for women ready to study and re-join the workforce.
Are you ready to learn a new skill and start a new job?
The Placement Circle is looking for women that are ready to study a qualification in Aged Care.
Learn to become a care worker with a Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care). With access to peer support, TAFE training and industry placements.
The Placement Circle Pilot Program
Research shows that women are increasingly at risk of homelessness and financial hardship as they get older. Women from diverse backgrounds are often excluded from the workforce due to caring responsibilities, time out of the workforce and being unable to find suitable work for their existing skills.
Here at WomenCan and The Placement Circle, we know that these amazing women have a lot to offer a workplace and we want to help them find meaningful work that allows them to use their unique skills and life experience.
WomenCan and The Placement Circle are working with women to help them gain vocational qualifications, meaningful employment, links to financial literacy training and create a supportive community of women.
We're doing this by establishing a training model for women that provides them with the support they need to get back into the workforce.
About the Pilot Program
We are currently running a pilot program to make sure our program meets the needs of participants and gets them the best employment outcomes.
The program and results will be tracked by Victoria University to establish a model that can be rolled out in other areas, and to grow and include other areas of high skill demand.
The first round of pilots will run in Dandenong, Footscray, Bendigo and Shepparton.
How it Works
When you join the pilot program, you will become a member of the Placement Circle.
This is a free membership for all women, where every participant helps other women to succeed.
You will have women to help you with your studies and your return or entry to work, and then you’ll be equipped to help the next round of women with their journey to success.
Membership through The Placement Circle and Peer Support program
gives you access to:
You’ll get access to a range of government and non-government resources when you start and as you go through the program.
We have a WhatsApp group where you can share your progress, ask questions, help other members out and get to know each other in a safe and private setting.
We are organising regular ‘catch ups’ for members both online and in-person, which gives you an opportunity to connect and share in a casual setting away from study.
Mentoring for you
You will have opportunities to connect with mentors from community-based service clubs such as Rotary.
Membership is free but each member is expected to help the next women across.
